SunOpta Moves to Nasdaq National Market

TORONTO--Feb. 6, 2006--SunOpta Inc. (NASDAQ:STKL)(TSX:SOY) announced today that approval has been received from NASDAQ to transfer from the NASDAQ Capital Market to the NASDAQ National Market effective at the start of trading on February 8, 2006.

SunOpta will continue to maintain its symbol STKL.

As previously noted on January 3, 2006, Jeremy Kendall, Chairman and CEO commented, "We anticipate that participation on the National Market will give SunOpta wider recognition and greater exposure to the investing community."
